Best part of the year: list time! I’ve made a best-albums-of-the-year list every year since at least 1999, and there’s no end to that streak in sight.
Below is a list of my favorite albums of the year. That doesn’t mean most important. It doesn’t mean most influential. It means only that these are the ones I most enjoy. There very well could be some albums that would have made my list had a heard them, but one just can’t listen to everything … so make sure to send some suggestions my way if you think my list is lacking something.
Here goes …

Show me yours.

I haven’t heard most of these, so I’m checking them out.
I’d suggest listening to these 5 before the end of the year (if you haven’t already, but knowing you, you have):
The Pink Mountaintops, “Outside Love”
Lily Allen, “It’s Not Me, It’s You”
Harlem Shakes, “Technicolor Health”
British Sea Power, “Man of Aran”
I Was A King, “I Was A King”
Indeed, I have heard none of those yet. I will check ‘em all out!
Nice list! Haven’t heard a few of them, I’d probably put Phoenix as my #1. I really like the Girls album.
I also enjoyed Lily Allen’s “It’s not me its you”
and also
The Avett Brothers – I, and Love, and you
St Vincent – Actor ( I heard she wrote most of the album in Garageband and that made me like it even more. I wonder if her original tracks had crazy looped drumbeats)
